So I'm starting to realize that there really isn't alot of information on Wikipedia about old sound products. In fact, finding information about older discontinued models, or for products where the manufacturer has gone belly up is kind of a pain in the arse.

Does anybody know of a good Wiki site for Pro Audio Gear? If not, anybody willing to help me start one?

I'm talking about a giant resource and spec database collection for all things pro audio. From guitar stomp boxes to power distros, computer software to speaker stacks, and everything in between. Not really crucial, but kind of a reference for when you need to do a little digging for specs of a particular item, or just want to remember way back when. Know what I mean?

If any administrators for FOH/PAS see this, can you make some noise to current manufacturers to see if we can stockpile links (for current items) and specs for equipment on a Wikipedia style page? I think this might be able to turn into an invaluable tool for sound personell...

What do you think?

I have a PDF version of a Sony MXP61VU manual on my website. This mixer was a very expensive (appx $10k) 12-channel broadcast mixer with individual channel strips. I scanned it in because I didn't find an electronic version of this anywhere else. You can find it at www.bgilbertsound.wordpress.com under "manuals." Would appreciate some kind of linkback, if that can be arranged... Hope this helps, BG

I have schemos for all things Peavey from about the 80's.  I could scan and post a few things.

See there will still be a use for us old guy's in audio. There are those of us who were working when a 6ch Tapco mixer was the big leagues and remember a good bit about that stuff.
