Ditto on the behringer DCX 2496 . Not the best but I have not heard of any issues in a long time. Price is good for your small budget. And yes it's better than a driverack PA

@ Ketch speakers from source range from 0(edge of stage) to about 50' to and a third position at about 75-100'

Price is as low as can get for a good product as this will be a set and forget system for a school. (my budget is really low as we still need to get additional microphone systems for the current production)

Daniel I will ask around I tend to use units that are a little more pricey but I will post in a day or so what some very good installers are using. How much delay are you needing ? and what is your $ limits , in my mind the fact that the system is down if this unit fails would be a very important consideration. Ashley makes some very good units and the Midas    oh no I meant BehRinger are well again if this unit fails then the system fails

Driverack PA does not have delay, only driver alignment. Ashly 3.6 has good audio, good service from factory around $900 street. No sniggering, but the Behringer DCX 2496 offers 3 in 6 out with delays and is around $350 and no it doesn't sound like an XTA but it is better than the Driverack PA and yes it is reliable (now). Hope this helps.

I would look at other units BBE is not known for this type of processors , and a failure in this takes it all down. I mean you do not need to get a Lake LM26 but their are better choices

Its for a school that will be getting a new theater in 6 years.

no moving it around. and no student access.

Also can't really spend much but need a up to six out for different delay zones.

I've used the BBE unit once for a client install about 3-4 years ago. We put it in a youth church room. It works fine but not near the quality of some of the nicer units out there. I don't remember the delay specs but I am sure the manual can be referenced. I am personally not a big fan of the cheap units but if you can afford 2 units for a travel system, you need to. If it dies, so does the gig. You are better off saving for the higher end units for reliability and sound quality. Danley sound labs has a relatively inexpensive unit that the have had branded for themselves that won't break the bank yet they recommend for use with thier stuff that cost up to $15,000.00 per box( jericho horn) so I would think reliability would be tested and found good.

If budget is the driving factor but the Drive rack systems have a longer history

with electronics price usually equals durability , but not always

I would look to the drive racks they cost a bit more but have proven road records
