Experiment with notching out 900ish on your outputs. Like most Yamahas it is there.

Hello, While I neither think the Yamaha M7 is a piece of "crap", nor do I think it's the best console out there. It is what it Fk'g IS. Until recently, there weren't a whole lot of Digital Consoles out there, and the ones…

I agree about the pre's being dark. I have been using an M7 for several years now and often use a pair of Avalon 737's and a DCL 200 to warm it up.

I do some work on an M7CL48, and these have been my observations about the console: -Very Dark mic Pre's. We run almost ever channel with a HPF rolling off the bottom end. Once that's done, it sound quite workable. We haven't run any…

Do you get that little saying 'piss with the cock you have' (Trad). I have an M7CL I use it. I would like a PRO6 but I dont have one at the moment. Be constructive, telling me how crap my M7CL is (IYHO) does not help me. I learned…

It seems a little ironic, or at least shortsighted that a bunch of guys getting all concerned about sample rates and external converters could accuse ME of being a 'gear snob' - Me, I am interested in using gear that gets the job done, not…

I support my own previous position and I would recommend you V3 Firmware upgrade and SB168-ES (ether sound) racks upgrade. You will fell the difference. Not only on the sound path quality but also you saving time and space. Wish you luck.

I am not a gear snob and have worked for 30 + years on all kinds of desks , Yes it is the engineer that matters . But a bad sounding desk is just that there is no snob about that! Yes you can get a good mix on a Yamaha desk but to choose one now…

I have mixed hundreds of events over the past few years on on M7 and Its ease of use, quality of sound, on board processing and price point make it a wonderful choice. In my situation, it replaced an aging 4K. I was able to to get 56 inputs with…

Yes you can get a good mix on a Yamaha desk but to choose one now with all the options that exist at the same or better price points is not a good choice as a SOUND ENGINEER . The gear does matter not the price There is the NEW and The Known if you can get a better sounding desk and you are a good engineer it will be that much better won't it? If better mic's matter then better desks matter as much. Now that is my opinion in a field where our opinions end up being our mixes
