I have beaten all the "big dogs" in town and secured the Christmas tree lighting ceremony in city square nov 26th, this draws 10's of thousands of people and all the logistical challenges of working outside in upstate ny after thanksgiving

it involves nearly everything I own plus two rented arc spot lights , multiple scaf towers for spot ops and speaker towers, two stages

foh will be in the middle of the city square ice rink, which will remain in operation thru-out the entire set up and… Continue

Audio 101 for Musicians Getting a better On Stage

monitor mix .

Many Musicians are comfortable turning Bass, Mid, Treble

knobs or putting a "smiley" on the 10 band graphic built in to their

powered mixer and turning the knob labeled "MON" up until it sounds loud

enough to them , but what about when you are on a larger stage where

there is a sound crew providing your monitor mixes for you?

How often do Musicians complain… Continue

Just a word to you guys out there that are putting off that visit or check

up, or are "uncomfortable" talking about issues with urination , erections,

ejaculate and basic men's issues.

I was just told I have a non cancerous enlarged prostate, this was

discovered as I was asking about the decreased firmness of my erections and

lack of fluid during ejaculation. They gave me a Viagra and sent me away, I

guess lucky for me the viagra had minimal effect or else I… Continue

Hey George, Do you have any tips for finding gigs in CNY? Its a tough process finding work these days.

It's funny you bring this up as that is what i have been stressing over and working on for a few weeks now... Legitimacy is becoming more and more necessary but its quite expensive when your just starting and don't yet have the jobs to cover it. But that's business... either you work hard and make it through the tough or you weren't meant to make it anyways.

Thanks, I hear yah... not that this show is even close to that big by any means but it is our first show of any caliber... Thankfully we have some help from a colleague who has been in the business for many many years. Good luck to you!

hi George, happy new years to you and your family.I hope 2011 bring some new business for the sound guyz. Our Carnival season is on us and I will be tendering for a couple of those government PA/sound reinforcement contracts.Wish me some some luck !!! Not forgetting the partys.

Yeah, we have our airshow in August every year. And you said it.....when those jets kick in, they'll rumble your rib cage...good stuff.....ha! I'm not sure who does the PA for it here though. We have two sound guys here and we're attached to the AF band (we're both active duty as well).
