The Blame Game

Posted on February 8, 2012 at 5:18am 0 Comments

Today they plan on releasing the findings in regards to the stage collapse in Indianapolis. Looks as if the blame will fall on the Local. I could go on and on about the fact that the Local is the wrong group to place the blame on but I think we are all smart enough to know this is BS from the word go, but instead I would like to ask each one of us to stop and think for a moment the impact this can have.

For those readers who are in right to work states it…

Out With The Old, In With The New

Well guy's and gal's it's that wonderful time of the year again' the end of the summer season. I hope it was as good as could be for everybody. I know there will be several people reading this and asking the question. is he on the sauce this early in the morning or still whacked out from last night ? Being that it is 9:30am the answer is neither.I have been working as a local all week on Disney On Ice, Toy Story 3, there is just no way to be in a bad mood when you stand next to Micky, Minnie,… Continue

So It's All In The Mix

Posted on August 15, 2010 at 8:43pm 21 Comments

I was going to just post a reply to one of Georges replies to Adam's blog, but... George brings up many fine points and I agree quite a bit with him, likely because we are both older guys who have been in this business a long time. Years ago when I stood behind the desk every night and thought that was all there was to being a sound guy I harbored many disillusions about reality. One thing I was spot on with was my passion to contribute to the overall performance, being that we often played for… Continue

Another One Bites The Dust

Posted on July 2, 2009 at 5:29am 2 Comments

So Jacko is dead, myself like many of us were quick to hear and repeat some if not all of the tasteless jokes. We tend to do that, it seems this business has a way of making us somewhat callus. I remember back to when Elvis died the country lost its mind in much the same way we have seen it loose it's mind with Michael Jackson dying. It's a little funny that we are now acting as nutty as we accused Michael of.

Perhaps we should take a minute and at least acknowledge how lucky we are… Continue

Local Personnel

Posted on May 2, 2009 at 11:09am 9 Comments

The other day I was working as a local on a show, something I do when there is no other work available. I will not mention any names but the lead audio person on the tour was considerably younger than me which may or may not have anything to do with what happened. When we were hanging the PA I pointed out a small and easily corrected problem. I was promptly told that I was only a local and to mind my own business and let the “Real Audio Guys” point out any potential problems. It took almost an… Continue

I know when I get any time to just sit back I have a Honey do list so I get back up and putter around the house . I do hope you get to hear the new RCF boxes as they are really something. Now for those of us that have been around and heard just about everything it is great to be really surprised hearing something new out of tracks you know really well. Ask around maybe some one you know and trust heard the rig. Our season is over so it's time for the outdoor shows for the summer look forward to hearing how your summer is

and another one of my shows I have been doing for 15 years is in jeopardy due to NYS closing the park it was held in for budget reasons
other things are coming around but not till later in the summer(aug 19-22) late sept and mid nov, see my post on the Ramsa sx-1 I just bought
